Come meet the new principal! Dothan 6th Grade Center invites students, families, and the community to a Meet and Greet with Principal Dr. Teresa K. Anderson on Friday, July 31, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The event will take place at Dothan 6th Grade Center.

Dr. Teresa K. Anderson was named principal of Dothan 6th Grade Center in April, bringing more than a decade of experience in educational leadership and organizational development. She currently serves as principal at George W. Carver Elementary School in Richmond, Virginia, where she has led initiatives focused on strengthening instructional practices, improving staff performance, and aligning systems to support student success. Anderson also brings experience in district level leadership as Director of Employee Relations, where she supported system wide improvement efforts, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness across multiple schools. Her expertise in coaching, data driven decision making, and building strong teams positions her to lead continued success at Dothan 6th Grade Center.

“It is truly an honor to be appointed as principal of Dothan 6th Grade Center,” said Dr. Anderson, “I am excited to partner with the students, staff and parents to create an environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to succeed. I am honored to lead, committed to serve, and ready to make a difference at Dothan 6th Grade Center.”

Come meet the new principal! Morris Slingluff Elementary School invites students, families, and the community to a Meet and Greet with Dr. Victoria Washington on Thursday, July 30, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Dr. Washington brings more than two decades of experience in education to her new role. Throughout her career, she has served as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and educational leader, with a strong focus on student achievement, school improvement, and building positive school cultures where students and staff can both thrive. She most recently served as an Educational Specialist with the Alabama State Department of Education’s Office of School Improvement, where she supported schools across Alabama through professional development, instructional coaching, and strategic planning. Prior to her state level role, Dr. Washington served as principal of Tipton-Durant Middle School in Dallas County, where she led initiatives that improved academic performance, strengthened family engagement, and expanded opportunities for students. Dr. Washington holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from National University and has completed advanced studies in instructional leadership and school administration. She has spent her career empowering educators, and creating learning environments where all children succeed. At Morris Slingluff Elementary School, she looks forward to working alongside students, families, and staff to help every child learn and thrive.

“I am thrilled to begin this new chapter and bring my student centered approach to Morris Slingluff Elementary School,” said Dr. Victoria Washington. “I look forward to building strong relationships with our students, families, and staff as we work together to keep teaching and learning at the heart of everything we do. My mission is to support both our students and staff so that every child has the opportunity to succeed.”

Aundria L. Sewell has been named principal of Beverlye Intermediate School for the 2026-2027 school year. Sewell currently serves as principal of Dannelley Elementary School in Montgomery, Alabama, where she has led school improvement efforts that increased student achievement through data-driven instruction, strategic planning, and a focus on high expectations for both students and staff.

 

Sewell brings a strong background in instructional leadership and professional learning, having previously served as an assistant principal and instructional leader. She has been recognized as a National Presenter at the Model Schools Conference and is known for building collaborative school cultures that support continuous improvement and student success. Her commitment to data driven instruction, strong school culture, and continuous improvement positions her to build on the success at Beverlye Intermediate School.

“I am so excited to join the Wolfpack at Beverlye Intermediate School,” said Sewell. “Leading is not about having all the answers, it’s about building a school environment where students are learning, teachers are growing, and staff are supported.”
